Special Education Evaluator - Remote Contract (AI Research & Evaluation)

About the Role

NeonLabs is collaborating with a leading AI lab to engage experienced special education professionals to join an innovative AI research project.

In this role, you will review and assess AI-generated work products, including documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks, for accuracy, rigor, and domain quality, applying deep subject-matter expertise to grade outputs.

This is a flexible, remote, hourly contract for educators who want to shape how AI performs special education and IEP work. Strong contributors also have the opportunity to advance into reviewer, lead, and domain-expert roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated artifacts against domain-specific quality rubrics.
• Identify factual, aesthetic, and presentation errors.
• Provide clear, structured written feedback that improves product quality and AI performance.
• Apply your professional judgment to grade outputs across documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research team.

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in special education or IEP development.
• Native or professional fluency in English.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, especially Google Slides and PowerPoint.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.
• An advanced degree (Master's or higher) from a reputable institution is preferred, but not required.

Compensation & Contract Terms

• Rate: $80 - $120 per hour (USD).
• Type: Independent Contractor.
• Payments: Weekly via Stripe or Wise.
• Schedule: Flexible hours, remote, and asynchronous.
• Contract Duration: Variable based on needs and performance (projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early).
