Applied AI Intern — Automation & Data Systems, Healthcare PE Firm | Fall 2026

KVLR Capital is a New York–based private equity fund focused on healthcare M&A. We're building out an AI-driven data function across our portfolio, from deal screening to clinical operations analytics. An intern will work directly on that build, not on simulated projects.

This is a hands-on role inside a small, senior team. You'll see how a real investment process runs, participating in deal diligence, financial modeling, and regulatory tracking. You'll also build the automation and data tools that support it.

What you'll actually work on

• Build automated deal-screening tools (revenue quality checks, customer concentration flags, comp analysis) used in live acquisition diligence
• Maintain and extend data models for specialty pharmaceutical margin analysis and healthcare referral pipeline tracking
• Design workflow automations (n8n, Make, Zapier, APIs) that connect our data pipelines to LLM-powered analysis
• Apply prompt engineering to produce structured, decision-ready AI output.
• Contribute to dashboards used by leadership to track portfolio company performance

Who does well here

• Completed or near-completing a four-year degree in computer science, data analytics, information systems, finance, or operations
• Some hands-on exposure to data analysis, scripting, or automation (class projects count)
• Comfortable with ambiguity. You will be part of a small team, building real infrastructure, not just part of a structured rotation program
• Curious about the intersection of AI, finance, and healthcare, and able to explain your reasoning clearly in writing and conversation
• Nice to have: Python, SQL, familiarity with APIs/databases, or prior no-code automation tool experience

Program structure

3 months, weekly team roundtables plus applied project work. You'll leave with a portfolio-ready deliverable you built and owned, not just a bullet point.
