Staff Software Engineer/Architect - AI

Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer III to help build and operate our internal AI platform. This role combines backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI application development.

You will own systems running in production, help design AI-powered features, and ensure our platform is secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, building new capabilities, and working across the full technology stack.

Responsibilities

Backend & Cloud Infrastructure

• Design, build, and maintain backend services on Microsoft Azure.
• Manage APIs, cloud applications, and platform integrations.
• Build and maintain data storage, search, and retrieval systems.
• Implement authentication, access controls, and security best practices.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Use Infrastructure as Code to manage cloud environments.
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and operational health.
• Manage platform costs and optimize cloud resource usage.

AI Platform Development

• Build and maintain AI-powered applications and services.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using enterprise data sources.
• Integrate with large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.
• Implement AI workflows, tool integrations, and model orchestration.
• Improve system reliability through error handling, retries, and fallback mechanisms.
• Help evaluate and improve AI quality, performance, and accuracy.

Engineering Leadership

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions.
• Mentor engineers and support technical growth across the team.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support operational excellence.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
