AI Roles with Security Clearance

AvaWatz is building Trusted AI for mission-critical environments where accuracy, reliability, and security matter.

We develop advanced AI, machine learning, data intelligence, and autonomous systems for complex operational environments across defense, homeland security, aviation, infrastructure, and other high-consequence applications.

Our work goes beyond developing AI models. We focus on putting AI into real-world operations: integrating complex data, creating intelligent workflows, enabling human-machine decision support, and deploying AI securely in environments where conventional cloud-based solutions often aren't an option.

We have several requirements in San Antonio, Texas, to support highly sensitive U.S. Government programs. These roles require U.S. citizenship, an active TS/SCI clearance, current SCI eligibility, and willingness to work on-site in San Antonio full time. No remote or Hybrid options available for these roles.

Each position also requires the ability to be read on to Special Access Programs (SAP), a DoD security category.

1. AI/ML Engineer, Agentic Systems and Large Language Models

• Deploying and integrating LLMs and agentic workflows in air-gapped or self-hosted secure environments
• Model integration rather than research: retrieval pipelines, tool use, and evaluation
• Proficiency in Python; experience with Palantir Foundry AIP is a plus

2. Data Ontology Engineer

• Experience building and defining data ontologies for complex operational datasets
• Data modeling, entity and relationship design, and semantic linking across disparate sources
• Backend data integration across multiple internal and external sources and multiple classification domains
• Palantir Foundry ontology experience strongly preferred
