Makeable is a San Francisco based company backed by Afore Capital. We are building tools that help people turn an idea into a real physical product. Our long term goal is a simple path from an idea to a 3D model, compatible parts, clear build instructions, code, manufacturing, and sharing.

The role

This is a paid, full time, 12 week internship for an AI Engineer who can also build product. You will work directly with the founders on the systems that turn a user prompt into an accurate, useful physical build experience.

What you will do

Build AI systems that turn natural language requests into structured product and build information.

Build fast, reliable flows for 3D models, compatible parts, build instructions, code generation, and validation.

Build the web product around these systems, including user flows, backend services, and evaluation tools.

Improve accuracy, speed, and reliability through testing, data, and direct user feedback.

Work closely with hardware and product teammates to make the result useful for real people.

What we are looking for

Strong software engineering ability and experience shipping web products.

Hands on experience with AI applications, language models, agent workflows, or evaluation systems.

Comfort working across frontend, backend, and product details.

Good judgment, clear communication, and a bias toward building and testing quickly.

Interest in hardware, 3D tools, or physical products is a plus but not required.

Location and pay

San Francisco is preferred, with a hybrid working setup. We are open to candidates who can relocate to San Francisco and may consider remote candidates based in the United States or Singapore. Visa support may be considered. Pay is USD 19.61 to USD 20.20 per hour, based on 40 hours per week. Strong interns may be considered for a full time role after the internship, with compensation and equity discussed then.
